Project BTC
One of the main programmes of BeFORE, Project BTC (Be the Tribes Catalyst) focuses on education, women’s empowerment, and the preservation of the traditional heritage of Kerala’s tribal settlements. BeFORE has undertaken a number of initiatives with the assistance of the Tribal Department, the Forest Department, other educational institutions, and other stakeholders in the tribal villages of the Ernakulam, Idukki, and Wayanad districts. These initiatives include vacation camps, education sponsorships and support, need assessment and impact studies of different projects, food security programmes, self-entrepreneurship for women and other developmental initiatives.
